Department of Biological Sciences
The Department, since 1994, has started Master’s programme in Botany with exmphasis on plant diversity. It is key collaborator in an interdisciplinary efforts to develop molecular taxonomy of plant biodiversity available in Central Himalayan forest ecosystems. The research thrust areas are application of mycorrhiza in production system,
plant biodiversity,ecology,taxonomy, bioprospecting, moleculer
taxonomy, acarology and reproductive physiology. It has an impressive biomuseum with ever-growing herbarium collection representing different ecosystems i.e., Himalayan, Arid, Coastal, Tarai, Hill and Mountain.
