About
University Hospital had a humble beginning as a one-room dispensary at Hostel No.2, the University Hospital and has grown into a dedicated 16-bed facility in front of the main market of the campus with 17 regular and 36 contractual staff. Round-the-clock health service is being provided, in general, to students, employees of the university and their families, campus community and people from nearby villages and other govt. institutions/PSU’s located nearby.
Medical and health facilities:
The university hospital has two regular medical officers one Lady Medical Officer and one Dental Surgeon (Contractual) on roll and 02 Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) for the benefit of the campus community Adequate supporting staff are also on roll for OPD unit and to provide 24 hours emergency health services at nominal registration charges.
- Facilities of state of the art ECG for cardiac patients and estimation of sugar for diabetic patients are available round the clock.
- A Regular lady medical officer is available in the hospital for the benefit of female patients & female students.
- Vaccination to children (Every Wednesday and Saturday) are provided in the hospital in co-ordination with state health services.
- Antenatal care and vaccination guidance to expectant mothers and high-risk pregnancies are provided.
- Dental treatment facilities such as dental restorations, pediatric and adult tooth extraction, scaling and polishing, root canal treatment are provided and the dental unit is equipped with state-of-the-art digital dental X-ray.
Facilities
Indoor ward facilities: The university hospital is an approved 16-bed facility, where the patients are admitted for short treatment. Those needing prolonged hospitalization are referred to nearby hospitals for needful treatment as per the university rules. Emergency services are provided to the patients round-the-clock, for essential and basic care. Separate student ward and general wards for the university staff are also available.
Investigation facilities: A lab with basic facilities to support diagnosis for patients is also available. The facility of plain x-ray is available in the university campus.
Ambulance facilities. Two Ambulances are available 24x7 at the university hospital to cater to the patient needs.
Other facilities:
- The University also provide medical insurance to all the registered students through the office of Dean Student Welfare.
- The University also provides reimbursement facility up to Rs. 10000.00, maximum three times, in a financial year for the university employees and their dependents.
- Routine health check up services and health awareness information are provided to visitors to kisan mela, hostels, University events.
- Facilities for physiotherapy are available in the University Campus.
- During sports meet at University Stadium and on demand by NCC unit, the emergency medical unit/team is deputed to cater to emergencies.
- University hospital participates and co-ordinates with Airport Authority of India in various drills and procedures and provide health support to VIPs in close co-ordination with the office of District Chief Medical Officer.
