About Us

About the Directorate of International Affairs

The Directorate of International Affairs at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology works to strengthen the university’s global presence and international engagement.

Its key role is to promote academic, research, and cultural collaboration with universities and institutions across the world. The Directorate acts as a single point of coordination for all international activities of the university.

Key focus areas include:

  1. Developing international bilateral and multilateral collaborations with reputed universities, organisations, institutes, and departments
  2. Facilitating dual, joint, and twinning degree programmes
  3. Promoting student and faculty exchange programmes with reciprocal mobility
  4. Supporting collaborative research and extension activities
  5. Assisting international students and visiting scholars

All international collaborations and programmes are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) guidelines of the Government of India, ensuring quality, transparency, and global academic standards.

Through these efforts, the Directorate aims to provide students and faculty with global exposure, enhance academic excellence, and build long-term international partnerships.

FRANCE [01]

  • The DEFIAA Project (Developing French–Indian Exchanges in Agro-food and Agronomy), backed by the French Ministry of Agriculture through a consortium of French agricultural institutions, signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement to promote sustainable exchanges.

a) 20 students of Pantnagar University visited France from March 08, 2024 to April 05, 2024.

b) 18 students from French institutions visited India during 2024.

c) 17 staff members of Pantnagar University visited France from October 06–11, 2024.

d) Dr. Christophe and Dr. Chantal, DEFIAA Coordinators, visited during December 08–12, 2024.

e) 20 students of Pantnagar University visited France from March 09, 2025 to April 04, 2025.

f) 14 students from French institutions will be visiting Pantnagar from October 03–30, 2025 (In Progress).

2024: Seven months Civic Service at Auch – Ms Ritika Pandey, B.Sc. (Agri Food), College of Agriculture

2025: Six months at Rodez and Auch, France – Two volunteers

Dr. Bishnu Bilas Adhikari, Vice Chancellor, along with the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and other officials visited Pantnagar and signed an MoU.

Dr. K. P. Raverkar, Dean (PG), Dr. Jyothi Prasad, Professor (CED) and Dr. Sneha Dohare, Assistant Director (International Affairs) participated in an international conference at Mahendranagar during 2024.

Erasmus International Cooperation Summer Week– Erasmus+ Summer Week for International Cooperation, a landmark international event, which brought together academic and institutional partners from all over the world, held July 21-25, 2025. Representatives of public and private higher education institutions from Europe, Asia, Africa participaited.

a) Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, Dr. K. P. Raverkar, Dr. H. J. Shiva Prasad, Dr. S. C. Tripathi and Dr. Jyothi Prasad undertook a two-week exploratory visit from September 16–30, 2024..

b) Nine (09) PhD and PG research students of SPSUVM visited GBPUAT from February 02–16, 2025.

c) Dr. Plemyashov Krill (Rector) and Dr. Nikitin Georjii (Pro Rector) visited from April 21–28, 2025.

d) Seven (07) PG research students and three (03) faculty members of GBPUAT will visit SPSUVM from September 15–28, 2025.

Briefing on VISA procedure:

1.Present your appointment letter for entrance to the VISA center.

2.Proceed to the G zone of the VISA center.

3.One person can obtain tokens for all individuals at counter no. 1.

4.Based on the token, each person's documents (VISA application form, insurance, passport, and tickets) will be verified one by one.

5.After document verification, proceed to counters C1 or C2 in the G zone for a fee payment of ₹ each.(Carry cash as far as possible, don't depend on Bank cards)

6.Following fee payment, visit counter B1 for biometrics; that's it.

Note: They're trying to convince you for courier services and manipulate you by saying that your friends have already taken courier services why you're not taking things like that. However, choose according to your convenience.

Ensure you attach every document mentioned in the cover letter; the Embassy will decide whether to issue the VISA or not.
